Jes Grew an in depth Analysis     In the book Mumbo Jumbo there are a lot of different and unique concepts in the novel. The main plot of this novel is the spread of a "virus" called Jes Grew. Some people call it an "Anti-Virus" because it is non-lethal in any way. Jes Grew is a certain culture growth that effects a country or maybe even effects the world. In the story Jes grew is a development of Black and African culture spreading in America trying to find the text. Overall this concept is very interesting to me.  The similarities and differences between Matthew Henson and Coalhouse Walker M atthew Henson   Coalhouse Walker Jr..... Matthew Henson, the man who was an assistant to Robert Peary. A historical figure who was a very vital asset to the exploration of the North Pole, but was very easily forgotten. On the other hand, we have Coalhouse Walker.  He is a non-fictional character, yet he stands out so much more that it is hard to forget him while reading Ragtime. They are both African Americans, but one is barely remembered in history. The other one, if a real history figure, in my opinion would be a substantial figure in civil rights.
